Richard S. Wheeler (born 1935, Milwaukee, Wisconsin)[1] is the award-winning novelist of over sixty books about the American West, including the Barnaby Skye series of novels. He is the 2001 recipient of the Owen Wister Award for lifetime contributions to Western literature, and is also a five-time Spur Award winner from the Western Writers of America.
